Grogg Studio is a ceramics practice that explores ordinary objects as future relics.
Founder Joy Grogg began handbuilding ceramics in 2017. Raised in Sydney and shaped by a decade in New York City, she returned to Australia with a renewed appreciation for the country’s landscapes, material culture and quiet nostalgia.
Drawing equally from archaeology and contemporary culture, Grogg Studio creates functional objects that feel familiar yet difficult to place. Every piece is handbuilt without plans. Form emerges through instinct, gesture and a deliberate sense of humour. Some resemble creatures. Others feel inherited, collected or remembered.
